The final exam for the
course will be held on December 8 at
9:00am. Please check the exam
timetable on SOLUS to verify the time and location.
The material for the final exam consists of everything covered in
the lectures (this may include material that does not appear in the text
or the lecture slides). The exam will include material from the
following portions of the textbook: Chapter 1, Chapter 2 (except
Section 2.5), Chapter 3 (except Section 3.6), Chapters 4 (except
moments), Chapter 5 (except hypergeometric random variables), Chapter
6, Chapter 7 (Sections 7.1-7.3 only), Chapter 8.
The exam paper will contain a formula
sheet and a table of values for the distribution function
of the standard normal random variable.
You are allowed to bring a simple calculator, but no other aids.
Final exam papers from other years are available at the
Oct. 16: The Midterm Exam will be held held
on Tuesday, October 25, 7 - 9 pm in Kingston Hall, Room
201. The midterm is closed book and closed notes; simple
calculators are permitted. The midterm will cover the material up to
and including Section 3.5 (Independence) in the text. Here is
last year's midterm. Note that last
year's midterm covered all material up to and including Section 4.5
in the text.
